Objectives of the role
The Business Controller (Operations) is the key Finance business partner and intermediary between the Financial department and the various other departments within Trespa, with a main focus on Operations. The Business Controller supports the FP&A Manager in controlling the Financial Planning and Analysis process of Trespa. This includes amongst others active involvement with all departments within Operations to be able to keep focus on overall performance and Budget Agreements. Business Controlling plays an active role in setting the stage, creating the structure and expectations to further improve the quality of the processes driving growth and cost efficiency. The Business Controller, together with its team members proactively analyses available data, to further create understanding of the business and seeks opportunities to continuously improve the quality of information and reporting. This function reports into the FP&A Manager.
Main responsibilities
- You act as a strategic partner to the business driving long term value and growth by keeping focus on overall performance and Budget Agreements
- You support the coordination and monitoring of the budget, forecasting and outlook process for Operations (COGS) and cost centers by challenging them, providing insights and identifying financial opportunities and risks. You flag these to the stakeholders and follow them up.
- You are responsible for the reporting and analysis of key profit and loss developments and inventory developments as related to operations and sales (COGS, OPEX, inventories, factory performance) on a monthly and quarterly basis using BI tools.
- You play an active role in the monthly reporting process ensuring the message is brought forward in a concise way, showing accurate numbers and interpretations
- Your main area of focus will be Operations
- You act as a sparring partner to the other Business Controller, the Group Financial Controller, Manager FP&A and the Management Team Operations and work in accordance with compliance rules and Trespa Values.
What do you bring?
- Bachelor+ or Master in Business Administration, Accounting, Controlling, Auditing or similar
- 2-5 years of experience
- Strong data mining and analysis skills
- Excellent communication skills and strong in building relationships
- Business acumen, inquisitive mind and open to give and receive feedback
- Affinity with ERP systems, preferably SAP, SAP BPC and AFO (SAP BW);Advanced in Excel
- English language skills
