The role:

As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in executing testing and analysis on products, intermediates, and raw materials to support Research & Development, Compliance, Production, and Quality Control. You will also contribute to the development of new characterization methods and support R&D projects for our various Group companies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform chemical and/or physical characterization tests and interpret results using statistical analysis.
• Document, interpret, and communicate test results in English to relevant stakeholders.
• Actively participate in R&D project teams.
• Implement and develop new measurement methods as needed.
• Train and support team members in the use of characterization equipment and methods.
• Maintain, calibrate, and use equipment for sample preparation and testing.
• Standardize and automate measurement processes to improve efficiency.
• Ensure all characterization processes comply with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Adhere to Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) principles, lifesaving rules, and 5S laboratory practices.
• Perform other specific tasks as required.

Skills & Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of experience in a related field.
• Vocational training or Bachelor's degree in a laboratory-related discipline.
• Proficiency in testing and analytical techniques, particularly in the characterization of wood-based materials, resins, and coatings.
• Basic knowledge of statistics, coating technology, and process improvement.
• Ability to plan and complete tasks independently.
• Experience compiling and interpreting results from multiple sources.
• Proficiency in software tools such as MS Office and SharePoint.
• Strong communication skills.
• Fluent in English; Dutch is preferred.
