Nemho is the home of Group R&D for the Broadview Holding materials companies Arpa (IT), Formica (world-wide), Homapal (DE), Trespa (NL) and Westag (DE). Broadview pursues long-term growth and value creation through active support of its operating companies and efficient capital allocation.
With combined sales of EUR 1.2 billion the companies have a leading position in the global market for surface materials. They currently employ around 7,000 employees worldwide. The core product is high pressure laminates (HPL). Applications range from façade cladding to kitchens, design furniture, doors and retail interiors. Continuous investment to develop new and innovative products is a key part of the strategy.
Nemho employs over 70 technicians, engineers and chemists responsible for the development of new products and processes and for the continuous improvement of the product quality and production processes efficiency by implementing new and innovative technologies.

We’re looking for a proactive, driven leader and manager who is keen to grow to an R&D Director level position. The future job holder will be able to successfully collaborate with different levels of stakeholders, including CEOs and operators, while leading a  talented team, and balancing the pressure of the day to day challenges with the strategic R&D agenda.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

The R&D Manager leads and develops an R&D team responsible for new product and process developments for the Broadview Holding materials technology companies in the area of advanced surface technology.

  • Manage the functional area’s R&D project portfolio and steer project initiation, progress, completion and continuous improvement.
  • Supports the identification of potential suppliers with procurement, and also the preparation and execution of capex projects.
  • Actively looks for new technology opportunities in the area of product and process development by technology scouting at conferences, meetings and trade fairs.
  • Develop the required attitude of the team towards Health, Safety and Sustainability strategy, guidelines and legislation.
  • Guide the team towards a healthy working environment and a positive collaboration with different companies in the group.
  • Build and maintain our network with universities and research institutes

Requirements

  • Academic level of working and thinking with a background in Chemistry, Materials / Chemical Engineering or a related field
  • 7+ years of relevant working experience including managerial experience
  • Experience in an international production environment
  • Knowledge of the leading technologies in the area of surface technologies, physical and chemical analytical test methods
  • Understanding of ideation and improvement methodologies
  • Project management experience and coaching expertise
  • Fluent in English; a second language is advantageous (for example Dutch or Italian).

 Other Information

The position is located in Weert close to Eindhoven in The Netherlands and will involve around 20% travel time.
