Reliability Engineer

The factory consists of 350 production workers who collectively run 8 different production lines, mostly in 5 shifts and a part in 2 shifts. The factory strives for continuous improvement, innovation and safety.

 

The Reliability Engineer will ensure that equipment is maintained to the highest possible standards to maximize productivity and quality in a safe environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the operational availability of the site by proactively identifying threats to availability. You will actively monitor and analyze asset reliability and availability. Identify and assess threats promptly, and develop and implement risk-based measures to mitigate and eliminate them.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze and report reliability performance data of equipment and systems;
  • Provide statistical data for investment and adaptation decision-making;
  • Initiate and lead - or facilitate - causal investigations or root cause analyses on reliability incident, and ensure follow-up actions are specified, documented, organized, expedited, and delivered;
  • Initiate changes to existing (RCM-based) maintenance plans and spare parts management;
  • Facilitate the process to ensure that (latent) reliability threats and reliability opportunities related to systems and equipment are proactively identified, prioritized and mitigated or eliminated;
  • Lead interdisciplinary teams to devise and implement systemic solutions  to operational, technical and technological issues affecting the availability and reliability of systems and equipment;
  • Forecasting and strategic planning for system overhauls and upgrades, taking into account long-term maintenance costs;
  • Have an active role in helping the organization set up and implement preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance or any other desired maintenance program.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering;
  • Proven track record in the process industry with experience in engineering, maintenance and/or operational processes;
  • Proficient in principles, processes, practices and applications of Reliability Engineering;
  • Skilled in the use of maintenance management systems to retrieve data for Reliability Engineering goal ends;
  • SAP and Microsoft Office knowledge;
  • Up to date knowledge about the latest (electrical) technology;
  • NEN3140 installation responsible for the operating mechanics;
  • High-low voltage proficiency certificate is a plus;
  • Demonstrated project management skills, risk management and prioritization;
  • Team player and good at building relationships;
  • Stakeholder management and influencing skills.
